There has been a great role of his elder brother Kasturi Lal ji and his mother Veero Devi to give him the right cult. His brother and mother Veero Devi used to instigate him to hold langers and to serve the people. In year 1961 he was married in a well-off family at Amritsar and his wife Santosh Gupta helped in all his jobs. He is survived by four sons and two daughters, Ram and Sham are twins and others are Sanjeev and Rakesh. Sr. Tejram Gupta, President of the Sabha donated Rs.1.25 Lakhs and Lala Satpal Langer donated Rs.1.23 Lakhs. This shows his greatness to honour others. His greatest achievement was in 1994 when he was chosen the President of Jammu Yatri Bhawan – Haridwar. A palatial building was raised from the Yatri Bhawan with 150 rooms, 3 big halls, 5 temples, one Gao-shalla, Yagya Shalla with lift facility, a big park, parking space for vehicles, cooling systems (Fridge) for providing cold drinking water, dinning hall, best chairs to sit on at various places. On Kanal land was purchased during his time near bus stand Jammu. On which there is a plan for construction of 28 rooms, 1 hall and 1 temple. There is also a plan from the transit stay of Yatries from far away places going to Haridar.

There was full contribution and support from the people of Jammu for the construction of the Yatri Bahwan. Now, not only for J&K state but the whole world many people come to Jammu Yatri Bhawan. One of the greatest projects of Lala Hansraj Mahajan of Mirpur Sidhar, popularly known as Sher-e-Duggar could not be started. But Satpal ji in cooperation with the biradari people wanted to construct “Sher-e-Duggar Lal Hansraj Mahajan” University, Medical College, Engineering College which was the programme of all the religious sammelan but he fell ill and this project could not start.

The last words of the last speech of the founder President of the Jammu Yatri Bhawan are:

“Ham Laye hain toofan se kishti nikal ke
eis bhawan ko rakhna mere mitro sambhal ke”

And at the end we would say: “Na din ko jise chain tha – Na raat ko aaram tha, dil mein yatri bhawan ka ek arman liye goomta who subah sham tha”

“Jan apni deke hum mein chala gaya, hay Jammu valo Lal Satpal Langer uska naam tha”
